(Shorttrack is now recognised by the ACU as a category.) If you require a club stamp, we can do that for you and forward your application to the ACU. ‘One Event’ licences will be available on the day at the cost of Ł10. European competitors must have permission from their own Federation to ride and can apply for a ‘One Day’ licence at the event. 3 – INSURANCE The insurance cover for the year will be ‘Basic’ (limit of liability Ł5M), with medical malpractice insurance included. There is no Personal Accident Insurance for Competitors. Each rider will have a minimum of three 6 lap heat races, with the top twelve scorers progressing to the 12 rider, 8 lap final. 5 - POINTS AWARDED FOR CHAMPIONSHIP Championship points are awarded on the finishing positions of the Final. Place 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th 11th 12th 13th 14th 15th Points 20 16 14 12 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 In the case of riders being involved in a tie on final championship points, the best placed rider in the last round will take the highest place. 6- RACE DISTANCES The duration of races will be as follows :- 6 laps for Heat Races / Eliminators / Last Chance 8 laps for Grand Final 7 - TIME PENALTY Any rider not at the start line within 2 minutes of being called will be excluded from the race. 8 - STARTING GRID PLACES Grid positions for the heats will be programmed, with every rider having a front, middle and back row start (although not necessarily in that order) Riders progressing through to the Grand Final will be given start gates according to their points total from the heats. 9- INFRINGEMENTS If a rider touches the tapes or jumps the start, the referee will place them 25 metres back from the start line. Riders with both wheels across the inner edge (white line) of the track during racing will be excluded from that race, unless in the referees opinion it was to avoid another rider. The referee has the right to exclude a rider from a race who he deems to be riding dangerously, whether a stoppage has been caused or not. 10- RACE STOPPAGE Any competitor who causes a race to be stopped will go to the back of the line-out or be placed 25m.from the back of the grid if a re-start. In the case of a race stoppage if 1 or 2 laps have been completed a re-start will take place. If the number of completed laps is 3 – 4 in a 6 lap race or 3 – 6 in an 8 lap race, there will be a line-out with the remaining laps being run. Riders will start in single-file, in the same order as the last complete lap before the race was stopped. (Referee / Clerk of the Course’s word is final.) If a greater number of laps have been completed the result will be declared. Hot Box Should a race be stopped but not completed, all riders must take their motorcycles to the designated work area (hot box) to make repairs. Any rider returning a bike to the paddock will be disqualified. Work periods will last for 2 minutes from the red flag or light, except for semi’s, last chance and finals when 4 minutes will be allowed. 11- FLAGS AND LIGHT SIGNALS Riders must obey all signals given to them on the track :- Chequered Flag - The finish of the race or practice session. Yellow Flag - Danger on this section of the track, overtaking is forbidden. Red Flag or Red Light - The practice or race is being interrupted. Riders must slow down, go to the hot box and await further instructions from the clerk of the course. 12- DISPLAYING YOUR RIDING NUMBER On registering for the series you will choose your riding number (1-99). Your number must then be displayed on your number plates (see tech regs). Your riding number should also be clearly visible on the back of your shirt / leathers. 13- MEETING FEES Entry fees for registered riders will be Ł40 per round. Late entries (received after the closing date) will incur a Ł10 cost IF accepted, your place can’t be guaranteed if late. 14 – SERIES MEMBERSHIP Shorttrack Minibike Championship registration is Ł10, which entitles you to score points in the championship. Rolling Chassis – unlimited modifications allowed, permitted mods include replacement forks, frame, swingarm, shock, wheels, brakes, gear lever, foot pegs, brake pedal, handlebars, throttle, seat, plastics, skid plate, tyres, chain and sprockets. The machine must be able to stop instantly, so an effective braking system on both wheels is mandatory. Only fuel that can be purchased from a roadside petrol station is permitted. A kill switch must be fitted to all machines. The noise level of any machine must not exceed 98dBA at 50cm. Number boards – front should be 20cm x 16cm minimum, white background with black numbers. Number should also be displayed on back of shirt or leathers. SUPERSTOCK MIDSIZE This class is based around a Kawasaki KLX110. Engine capacity – maximum 110cc, using a stock Honda KLX cylinder head - no head modifications allowed. Wheel Size – must be 12” rear and 12” or 14” front. Must use stock Kawasaki hubs, rim and spoke upgrades permitted. Replacement camshaft, air filter, jets, exhaust permitted. Must use stock piston and cylinder – no stroker cranks. Carburettor must be stock except for jet change. Transmission – must use stock Kawasaki semi auto clutch, heavy clutch springs permitted. Must use stock Kawasaki 3 or 4 speed transmission. Chain and sprocket changes permitted. Rolling chassis – must use stock KLX110 frame and swingarm, replacement rear shock absorber allowed. Forks – must use stock KLX110 forks, sliders and fork legs, replacement springs and internal mods permitted.
